Tabby explained how she had made a paper butterfly by drawing around her hand. We followed her example and created our own butterflies. Once made, we decorated the butterflies to have repeating patterns.
We created splat painted butterflies. Once dry, we outlined painted our backgrounds before outlining our butterflies in black.
In PE this week, the children learnt how to curl! They enjoyed the task and worked on using an appropriate amount of force to slide the stone towards their target.
This week we have been exploring number bonds for numbers up to 10. Following the Inspire Maths guide, we took the number and broke it up into differing amounts using practical resources. In yesterdays lesson we explored the part-whole models to find number bonds, today we drew our own and used them.
In preparation for Year One and Inspire Maths. The children have been breaking numbers apart to find the two parts to make a whole. We all started with the same amounts and split it into the two small amounts, saying our numbers sentence as we finished.
